Cello

I vividly remember sitting in a crowded elementary cafeteria at 9 years old, absolutely fascinated by all the instruments in front of me. The seventh-grade orchestra was making its annual tour to all the fourth graders in our district to encourage them to sign up for orchestra.

It was an easy sell.

The only question was which one. Almost everyone up there had a violin in their hands, and the viola looked a little too similar to the violin. I’ve never been one to do exactly what everyone else is doing. I glanced at the upright basses and was frightened….how on earth do you make any sound with that massive thing? So, my gaze inevitably fell on the cello section.

A school orchestra program in a small rural town in Arkansas changed the trajectory of my life. First, I was blessed with remarkably talented and patient teachers. Then, miraculously, I managed to get a cello scholarship to a phenomenal college.

God has given me opportunities I could have never dreamed of having. The cello has allowed me to meet a wealth of interesting people and connect with them deeply through the power of music. Although my gears have shifted to a focus on writing, I still play cello regularly and love collaborating with different artists.

Below are a few of my recent collaborations. I can produce high-quality recordings from my home studio if you need a cello for a recording project. I also love to play in person.
